Rotational viscometers play a central role in viscosity measurement by providing detailed insights into a fluid’s resistance to flow under applied torque. This measurement provides a direct indication of the sample's flow properties, influencing its behavior in various applications.
Rotational viscometers are robust instruments that allow operators to measure viscosity by rotating a spindle through the sample. This process measures the resistance generated by the fluid, which is converted into viscosity readings. For non-Newtonian fluids, which exhibit complex flow characteristics, rotational viscometers are especially useful, as they help understand changes in viscosity under different shear conditions.
The rotational viscometer is driven by a miniature synchronous motor, which rotates at a constant speed of 750r/min, and is hardly affected by changes in load and power supply voltage. The housing of the motor is installed in a suspended manner. It drives the rotating cylinder to rotate through the rotating shaft. When the rotating cylinder rotates in the liquid to be measured, it receives the action of viscous resistance, thereby generating a reaction force that deflects the motor housing. The motor housing and the metal balance spring installed one forward and one reverse is connected, and the rotation of the case causes the balance spring to generate torque. When the torque of the balance spring and the viscous resistance torque are balanced, the pointer connected to the motor case will point out a certain value on the dial, which is proportional to the viscous resistance of the drum, so the scale reading is multiplied by the rotation The barrel factor represents the magnitude of the dynamic viscosity.
The rotary viscometer is suitable for measuring the viscosity of various fluids such as oil, paint, ink, coating, plastic, slurry, rubber, latex, detergent, resin, condensed milk, cream, medicine and cosmetics. , electromechanical, pharmaceutical, food, light industry, construction, and other industries, as well as universities, scientific research units, laboratories of military industry departments, and analysis rooms.

1. The synchronous motor is used to rotate at a stable speed, connected to the scale disc, and then the rotor is driven to rotate by the hairspring and the rotating shaft.
2. The gear system and clutch are used to change the speed, operated by a special rotary knob, and there are four speeds, which can be selected according to the measurement needs.
3. There are four kinds of rotors from No. 1 to No. 4, and 4 speeds can be preset. The speed can be selected according to the viscosity of the liquid to be measured to meet the measurement requirements of different ranges.
4. Equipped with a fixed pointer control device (pointer control rod), it is convenient to read accurate readings when the speed is fast.
